Online Book launch :Swatantrya Veer Savarkar -A concise biography –18th September 2021

Sri Ayush Nadimpalli ji briefly covered Savarkar’s life and work. The book was released by Sri Padmakar Dixit Ji. Sri Padmakar ji was a Swayamsevak from his early days and founder of Veer Savarkar Seva Samiti in Bhagyanagar. Padmakar ji had a darshan of Savarkar in his teenage.

Abhishek Ranga ji briefly covered the book. Rajaram Atre Ji one of the translators of the book spoke about the book.

The key speaker of the event was Sriman Sreerang Godbole who has translated the book from Marathi. The original book was written by his father, Sriman Arvind Godbole.

He said that the freedom of Bharat was not won by non-violence alone. It was a prize gained by the blood, tears and sacrifices of lives of nameless revolutionaries and their families. He said that Savarkar is a timeless icon. Savarkar’s ideas and philosophy are not remote historical artefacts but are relevant even today. He said that leftists tried to erase Savarkar’s contribution to the nation. Savarkar was a staunch nationalist, a critical philosopher, a social reformer, an epic poet, a keen analyst, a historian, a brilliant writer and an outstanding orator. Sriman Godbole further observed that a nation that does not remember its heroes will not survive.

Savarkar was subjected to much more harsh treatment for a far more extended period of time, compared to others interred in the Andamans. Inspite of this the leftists throw vile aspersions upon his character. Savarkar did not remain idle either when in jail or in confinement to Ratnagiri. While in jail in the Andamans or in Pune, he produced the most expressive and potent part of his literary works. While in Ratnagiri he created the models that would serve as the templates for national social reconstruction. The most recognizable of these social service efforts was the Pateet Pavan Mandir.

The session was concluded with Questions and Answers.
